Before your chiropractic care can begin, it is important that we assess whether chiropractic will be beneficial to you and to get a clear picture of your health and wellbeing.
We do this in a 2-hour initial assessment appointment. This involves full history taking, a physical assessment, orthopaedic and neurological testing, and a first treatment.
After you book your initial assessment, we will email you a mini questionnaire to give a brief overview of your condition before your appointment. We can take history details over the phone if you are short on time – just give us a call to arrange this.
Before we begin your first treatment, we will give you a report of findings, in which we will explain the results of the testing. We will give you a working diagnosis and discuss what may be causing your condition. Finally we discuss how we can approach ‘fixing’ it. This allows you to make an informed decision over whether you want to start care or not.
At each further appointment, we will assess your progress, and discuss how you feel about your care, and how to proceed from there.
Sometimes it may be necessary to refer out to other health care professionals if we feel your case is not suitable for chiropractic care or requires further investigation.
If you are uncertain whether chiropractic care is for you, feel free to contact us to discuss your condition, or book a spine check!
Spine checks are a free, 15 minute assessment where we will discuss your condition. In the assessment we do some brief testing to get an idea of what may be causing the condition, and whether chiropractic care will be suitable for you.
